One of my favorite donut places in the state is Sesame Donuts. Their original store on Beaverton-Hillsdale highway in Portland has been one of the goto places for donuts in town for a long time. Their newest location in Hillsboro is a godsend for me. I'll be there quite often.
From the best buttermilk bars in town to great chocolate and vanilla creme filled donuts and fabulous apple fritters to their signature Sesame Donut, Sesame has been making customers happy with fresh donuts fried in Zero Trans Fat oil taste as good as they look.
I love the buttermilk bars, my biggest test of a donut place. If they don't make a buttermilk bar, they don't count in the game as far as I'm concerned. Sesame has always done them well, and they were as good today as they have ever been. Well fried, perfectly cooked through. Great texture and flavor. They soak up your favorite cup of coffee perfectly and hold together at the same time.
The Chocolate Creme was great. Soft donut filled with great chocolate creme frosting and tossed in powdered sugar. The butter creme frosting inside these donuts is perfect, and stays together even hours after being made. A great creme and perfect donut shell to hold it.
In all, if you haven't had a chance yet to try the amazing donuts turned out by the folks at Sesame, you need to find their nearest location and give it a try.
