Ye Olde Pancake Station in Amarillo, Texas is a bit out of the way, but as you can see is a popular place even on a weekday morning

We started our day at Ye Olde Pancake Station in Amarillo, TX and you have to click through to see the review of this place. We made a couple of stops for gas, the first of which was at a truck stop that had an auto museum you will see pictures from, but otherwise drove all day to make it to the hotel by 9:00 pm.

Today we had planned on hard driving getting us to Albequerque, NM. We got a bit of a later start, and when I realized that Route 66 passed through Joplin, MO we decided to spend some time exploring the Mother Road instead of pushing down the interstate.

I would have expected to see this in Portland, San Francisco, or New York. It is suprising to see it happen first in San Antonio of all places. I love the idea, and hope it works well enough for other cities and counties to give it a try. You can already checkout ebooks in many library systems, but why deal with the hassle of paper books when you don't need to. In this age of smart phones, ebook readers, and tablets galore all that really needs to happen is for a format to be decided on. Here we are hoping for EPUB, but that would cut out the millions of Kindle's amazon has alrady won the market with.
